Imagine that there is a record of details from your past, details which no longer exist
outside your deepest memory. Imagine going through a door and up the stairs and into
the deserted room to find once more those long forgotten, long-gone once significant and
precious items from your everyday past, removed from their original context and now
placed as exhibits in some future museum of the quotidian.
Sian is recreating five tableaux - digital still lifes -
from her childhood in North London in the 1960s. Their origins are lost forever, their meanings
uncertain. They are an attempt to evoke transient memories, an excavation of the beauty
that surrounds us all the time - if we could only see it before it is too late.
The first element of this series was Tranquillity Base.
